No-fibs — what this tool is and isn't
This is a free browser utility, not a service: all encoding happens on your device via canvas re-encode, and no image, filename, or account is ever uploaded. Compression is lossy (JPEG/WebP/AVIF) with a visual-quality floor the search never goes below — it shrinks files, it doesn't preserve every pixel, and if a candidate can't beat your original meaningfully you still see the real numbers. AVIF only runs if your browser can encode it (feature-detected, honestly skipped when absent). The canvas re-encode strips EXIF/metadata — a privacy plus, but orientation data goes with it. "Use monitoring" means one anonymous row per page visit, image processed, and download — containing only the action, winning format, and byte counts. No PII, ever; that's the whole log. The same measured-compression engine powers my photo vault; this page just makes it public.
