LinkedIn Post — Calm OS

A free desktop in your browser, honest about what it is and isn't.

I built an operating system. Sort of. Let me be honest about exactly what that means. 🌿 New in The Human Brain App: Calm OS — a free, public desktop that lives in your browser. It combines three ideas into one calm surface: 🖥️ A desktop shell — pick a wallpaper (Morning Sage, Warm Sand, Sea Foam, Soft Stone, Quiet Dusk), click icons, and open real labs: the Game Lab, Breathing Lab, Geometry Lab, the Public Shelf, and more. ⌨️ A zen terminal — type "focus 25", "note water the plants", or "open game lab" and it actually does the thing. Short commands, real tools. ⭕ Daily rings — four soft rings (Focus, Rest, Learn, Play) you reorder to shape your day, each opening its matching lab. It's personalizable: wallpaper, ring order, notes, timer — all yours. And it's free: no account, no paywall, no ads. No-fibs corner, because this app never fibs: it is NOT a real operating system — it's a friendly desktop shell over tools that already exist in the app. Your personalization is saved in your browser only (nothing is sent to a server, nothing tracks you, and clearing your browser data clears it — it won't follow you to another device). The rings are links and gentle habits, not health data. Why free? Because the point of the app is to prove these things can exist without a paywall watching you. Take it, use it, calm down a little. 🧠 Try it: https://thehumanbrainapp.base44.app/calmos #BuildInPublic #NoFibs #CalmTech #FreeSoftware #IndieDev

Claim check (no-fibs)

  • "Free, public, no account" — true: /calmos is outside the login wall and needs nothing to use.
  • "NOT a real operating system" — the post says it out loud; the app's own About panel says the same.
  • "Saved in your browser only" — true: wallpaper, rings, notes, and the timer use localStorage; nothing is uploaded or synced.
  • "The terminal actually does the thing" — every command maps to a real app or applet; unknown commands say so.
  • "Nothing tracks you" — no account, no server writes, no analytics behind the desktop.
